Fraternity & Sorority Life at USF

USF Greek Councils

  • The Panhellenic Association (PHA) at USF represents 10 women's-only sororities dedicated to academic excellence, philanthropy, empowerment, and sisterhood. Each chapter has a house in Greek Village, fostering a supportive community where women grow, serve, and uplift one another. PHA’s major events include Primary Recruitment in the fall and Circle of Sisterhood Week, celebrating the power of women supporting women.

  • The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at USF represents 15 men's fraternities dedicated to fostering scholarship, leadership, brotherhood, service, and integrity. IFC provides opportunities for men to join Greek life through Recruitment and Bid Rally, held each fall and spring semester. The council also hosts programs like the Social Excellence Workshops, Preeminent Man Program, and the Shriner’s Showcase Philanthropy, encouraging leadership development, community involvement, and lifelong brotherhood.

  • The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at USF, established in 2001, represents culturally-based fraternities and sororities, including Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA), Latinx/a/o, and Multicultural organizations. While rooted in cultural traditions, membership is open to all who share the organization's values and a passion for serving these communities. MGC hosts signature events throughout the year, such as the Summer Yard Show, New Member Presentations, MGC 101, and MGC Week, celebrating diversity, community, and cultural awareness.

  • The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) at USF, chartered in 1992, represents the Divine Nine — historically Black Greek letter organizations dedicated to fostering brotherhood, sisterhood, and social change within the Black community. NPHC is made up of 4 sororities and 5 fraternities, with membership open to all who align with the organization's values and commitment to service. NPHC hosts several signature events throughout the year, including the Summer Yard Show, New Member Presentations, NPHC Week, and the highly anticipated Extravaganza Step Show, showcasing the council's rich culture and tradition.

  • The Beta Lambda chapter of Order of Omega (OOO) at USF is an honor society that recognizes the top 3% of already-initiated sophomore, junior, and senior members of fraternity and sorority life. These individuals have exemplified high standards of scholarship, leadership, and involvement within their respective organizations, the broader fraternity and sorority community, and the local community. Order of Omega honors those who have made significant contributions to Greek life and continue to lead by example.

Since 1966, fraternities and sororities have played a vital role in shaping the University of South Florida's campus culture and the greater Tampa Bay community. With over 45 unique organizations across four governing councils, our diverse community is built on the core values of Integrity, Learning, Leadership, and Service.

Representing 5% of USF's undergraduate population, our members are leaders across campus — from Student Government to USF Ambassadors and Orientation. Our chapters provide exceptional leadership development, academic support, and community service opportunities, contributing to over 45,000 service hours annually as part of the largest volunteer network in the nation.

With a rich history and commitment to excellence, Fraternity and Sorority Life continues to leave a lasting impact on USF and the surrounding community.
