Delta Gamma was founded in 1873 at the Lewis School for Girls in Oxford, Mississippi, and the Delta Kappa chapter at the University of South Florida was established in 1968. Guided by our motto, Do Good, Delta Gammas are dedicated to upholding our values of friendship, character, educational and cultural interests, and social responsibility. Our symbol is the anchor-representing hope, and our colors are bronze, pink, and blue. Our official flower is the cream colored rose, which is valued by Delta Gammas everywhere.

Delta Gamma is the Do Good Sisterhood! Our national philanthropy is Service for Sight. Delta Gammas at USF host our annual Anchor Splash event each fall where USF organizations join teams to participate in a synchronized swimming, and cheer routine in the pool. We also have an annual spring event, Sailor for Sight, where each organization selects a representative to co-represent Delta Gamma. These events raise awareness and funds toward Service for Sight, which was founded and is funded by Delta Gamma. Delta Gammas at USF are proud to use the monies raised to support the five Delta Gamma schools that work with children who are visually impaired. In addition to Service for Sight we also donate to the local organization, Dogs, INC., which supports the training of service dogs. We have been able to name six service dogs and fund their training as well! Beyond raising funds, Delta Gammas support education about eye health and safety to help preserve vision and work directly with Lions World Vision Institute in Tampa to assist with eye exams for children and teens. We are proud to dedicate our time and talents to Service for Sight!

Delta Gamma acknowledges legacies (daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, or sisters, including step-relations) of initiated members, but they no longer receive preferential treatment during recruitment. All potential new members are now given equal consideration.
