BETA ALPHA CHAPTER
Delta Delta Delta
Chapter Information:
-
Tri Delta was founded in 1888 at Boston University and has since grown to include over 140 chapters across the country. Our chapter here at the University of South Florida, known as Beta Alpha, was founded in 1966. At the heart of Tri Delta are three core values: truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship. These values guide our members in their daily lives, inspiring them to live with purpose, serve others, and stay true to themselves. Our open motto, "Let us steadfastly love one another," reflects the essence of our sisterhood, a bond built on love, support, and authenticity.

Tri Delta's national philanthropy is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which focuses on researching and developing treatments for children battling diseases like leukemia, brain tumors, and other forms of cancer. What makes St. Jude unique is its unwavering commitment to providing treatment to children, regardless of a family's ability to pay. The hospital covers the costs of care, including travel and housing for patients and their families. Since adopting St. Jude as its philanthropy in 1999, Tri Delta has raised over $100 million to support the hospital's mission.
Our chapter, Beta Alpha, hosts major fundraising events in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Each semester includes week-long fundraising activities, culminating in one major event. In the Fall, we organize "DHOOPS," a basketball tournament that brings the USF community together for a great cause. In the Spring, we hold "Strikes For St. Jude," a wiffle ball tournament. These events allow our chapter to create unforgettable memories while raising money for St. Jude and its life-saving work. In addition to supporting St. Jude, Tri Delta is dedicated to the mental and holistic health of its members through two internal philanthropies: "Body Image 3D" and "Behind Happy Faces." These initiatives focus on promoting body positivity and mental well-being. Each semester, facilitators lead workshops for our members, helping to create a supportive environment that emphasizes the importance of self-care and mental health.
-
Tri Delta defines a legacy as a daughter, step-daughter, sister or step-sister of a Tri Delta member. While we recognize and celebrate family connections/legacies when family members join our sisterhood, Tri Delta does not give any preferential treatment to legacies during recruitment. Legacy status does not ensure an invitation to any round of recruitment or an automatic bid.
